Lady Jackets look to establish dominance, move to 7-0 on season

The WCHS Lady Jacket lacrosse team has been on fire to start off the season, and coach Haven Buckner and her squad continued the hot streak over the weekend, picking up convincing wins over Collins (18-5), Hendersonville (19-4) and Tates Creek (20-1).

“It has been our goal this season to win by big margins, to show our dominance so to speak.” Coach Buckner said after the win over Collins.

The Lady Jackets got off to a slow start, trailing 2-0 early in the game before finding their footing on defense and slowing the Lady Titans to only three more scores for the rest of the game. “It’s been a tough game, we had to keep a lot of our starters in the whole time which is not something we want to do because we do have other talented girls, but it was defenity needed this time. It was a tough game. The score might not show it but it was tough,” said Buckner. The Lady Jackets improved on their 18-5 victory over Collins on Sunday after defeating Hendersonville 19-4. They then took on Tates Creek Monday with another convincing win. The Lady Jackets face North Oldham at home Friday, March 22 at 7:30pm.
