April 8 -- Painting with Bessie, 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. All skill levels are welcome. Contact Bessie Bain at 873-5658 for more information. April 8 – RAP Support Group (Relatives As Parents), 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Refreshments and child care are provided. For more information, call the Extension Office. April 11 – Woodburning Workshop, 6 p.m. Bring your own woodburning tool with tips. All other supplies provided. Choose from a variety of patterns to make your very own cheeseboard. Pre-payment of $15 is required and can be brought to the Extension Office at 184 Beasley Drive. For more information, call 859-873-4601. April 13 – Earth Day Tree Giveaway, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Versailles Kroger. Trees will include red bud, wild plum, paw paw, roughleaf dogwood, persimmon, bald cypress, walnut, pecan, bur oak, grey dogwood, hazelnut and more. April 16 – Sit-N-Sew, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Interested in joining others with an interest in sewing/quilting? Join us the third Tuesday of each month. All skill levels are welcomed. Bring your own project to work on. Master clothing volunteers will be available for answering questions and offering guidance on your project. No fee for attending. April 18 – Container Gardening Workshop, 6 p.m. Jefferson County Master Gardener Terry Gibson will lead this fun, hands-on class. Call 859-873-4601 to register. April 24 – Green Living Seminar & Rain Barrel Workshop - The Green Living Seminar will start at 5:30 p.m. and is free with topics that include: home composting, homemade green cleaning supplies, recycling in Woodford County and rain barrels. The Rain Barrel Workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the class fee is $20, all supplies are included for one barrel. You will need to bring your own drill. April 27 – Master Gardener Plant Sale at Court Street, Downtown Versailles, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Join us for our second annual plant sale. We will have a variety of tomatoes, peppers, herbs, perennials, annuals and garden art. Plants will be sold for $1 to $2 or less and there will be potted options for Mother’s Day gifts for $10 or less. April 30 – Learn With Us – Green Cleaning, 6 p.m. Would you like to know how to make your own cleaning supplies to save money and reduce chemicals in your home? In this program, you’ll learn how to make household cleaners – and will get to make a solution to take home with you. These products can do an effective job of cleaning and also improve the environment and reduce waste. Discover the green way of cleaning for your home. To RSVP, call the Extension Office at 873-4601.
