Doris Jean Goodpaster Rankin, 90, widow of Arthur D. Rankin, died Monday, April 29, 2019. Born on April 12, 1929, in Richmond, she was the daughter of the late Claude P. and Alma Blount Goodpaster. She was a 1947 graduate of Henry Clay High School. She was retired from Parker Seal and was a member of Macedonia Christian Church of Lexington Survivors include five children, Nancy Littrell, Versailles; Sherry Matherly, Lexington; Darrell (Janet) Mabley, La Grange; Debbie Lane, Lexington; and Sandra Mabley; eight grandchildren, Lisa Jourdan, Ginger Bailey, Tony Rankin, Dee Matherly, Angie Mabley, Tre Lane, Amanda Lewis-Sanders and Ashley Littrell; 14 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Stinnett; a brother, Claude Goodpaster; a son-in-law, William “Billy” Lane; and two grandchildren, Trista Lane Hail and Darrell Shane Mabley. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Thursday, May 2, at Versailles Cemetery, by the Rev. Mark Dunn and the Rev. Fred Turner. Family and friends are invited to St. Leo’s cafeteria after services for refreshments.
