Midway University and KCTCS announce “Midway Connection Program” for students
Midway University and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) have signed a memorandum of agreement to facilitate the seamless transfer of students from the KCTCS system to Midway. The MOA specifically addresses providing a structure through which transfer-related student information reports will be exchanged between the institutions; identifying students who are likely to consider transferring from KCTCS to Midway; and enhancing advising services and transferability of credits through the Midway Connection Program, which helps students audit their progress towards a four-year degree and get specialized advising during the transfer process. “We are pleased to provide an ease of transferring process to KCTCS students,” said Dr. Mary Elizabeth Stivers, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Midway University. “We have always worked with KCTCS students and have had many graduates who first attend or earned a degree from KCTCS and have valued our partnership over the years. We look forward to enhancing the transfer and admissions process moving forward and look forward to many more KCTCS/Midway University graduates in the future.” KCTCS Chancellor Kris Williams said providing more transfer opportunities for students is of utmost importance. “We want to make sure KCTCS graduates have as many options as possible for a seamless transfer experience,” she said. “We are pleased that Midway understands our students and their needs and will provide specialized advising and other services for them during the process.” Upon the student’s acceptance to Midway University, they then get enrolled in the Midway Connection program. At this point they are granted access to Midway’s Self-Service degree audit system allowing them to view their individualized degree plan and progress toward a Midway baccalaureate degree. The degree audit is then kept current through regular submission of their KCTCS transcripts to Midway for credit evaluation. The Midway Connect Program is available to all students who wish to transfer to either the Traditional Day Undergraduate program or the Evening/Online Undergraduate program.
