Woodford County Boys’ Lacrosse earns two All-State selections

The Woodford County Boys’ Lacrosse team garnered several All-State honors following the conclusion of their 8-12 season.

Everett Thompson was selected for first team as a long stick midfielder. Joining him on the first team was defender Will Slover.

The following Jackets were selected as honorable mentions: attacker Nick Crowe, defender Lee Kain, and goalie Bryan Birch.

The boys played host to a playoff game, but were defeated 7-2 by Bowling Green on Friday, May 10. Bowling Green lost in the next round to eventual state runner-up Lexington Catholic. Henry Clay defeated the Knights for the state championship.

The All-State honorees will be recognized Saturday evening before an all-star game at Bryan Station High School. Award presentations will begin around 6:15.
