Carolyn L. Barnes, 65, formerly of Woodford County, wife of Donald R. Barnes, died Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Ephraim McDowell Hospital. Born on May 5, 1954, in Versailles, she was the daughter of the late Geraldine “Buddy” Currens. She was a former employee of Thomson Hood Veteran Center in Wilmore. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Josetta Hardy, Slidell, Louisiana; two sons, Bryan Crowe, Nicholasville; and Daniel Crowe, Harrodsburg; a daughter, Vicki Sams, Harrodsburg; a stepsister, Mary Ann Currens; a stepbrother, Mark Currens, both of Versailles; and seven grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until time of the service.
