Delmer “Bob” Picklesimer, 94, died Friday, June 7, 2019, at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. Born on March 8, 1925, in Stella, he was the son of the late Bernie and Roena Reed Picklesimer. He graduated high school from Hazel Green Academy and served as a paratrooper in the United States Army during World War II. He retired after 45 years of employment as Division Manager at Bonded Oil Company. He was a member of the Masonic Order at Mizpah Lodge in Hazel Green. Survivors include a son, Bobby (Kathy) Picklesimer, Versailles; a granddaughter, Sarah (Robert) Rice, Butler; and a sister, Jean Payne, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Tarter Picklesimer; five siblings, Icel Greenwood, Jessie Drago, Bonnie Lou Picklesimer, Carl Picklesimer and Patsy Smith. Services were conducted Monday, June 10, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, by the Rev. Beth Ellenberg. Interment with military honors followed at Rose Crest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Thomson-Hood Veteran Center Family Council, 100 Veterans Drive, Wilmore, Ky. 40390.
