WCHS football will host 7 on 7 football tournament Saturday

The Woodford County High School football team’s preparations for the 2019 season are underway. The KHSAA dead period forbidding high school sports teams from practicing or playing came to an end on July 10. Teams are now free to convene again, and WCHS Coach Dennis Johnson and the Yellow Jackets have wasted no time getting ready for the upcoming season. The team held its first practice Wednesday evening and will host a 7 on 7 tournament this Saturday, July 13. Games begin at 9 a.m. with 23 teams competing for the title of Woodford County Invitational champion. With several games being played at once, the tournament shall be played on Community Stadium’s field, as well as the practice fields at Falling Springs. Admission for the full day is $4. Full details in next week’s Woodford Sun.
