Registration closes soon for Triple Crown Trot

Race day is almost here… and that means time is almost up to save yourself a spot at the starting line! The Triple Crown Trot 5K breaks out of the starting gate at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud on Saturday, Aug. 24; registration is only open until noon on Aug. 22. The Triple Crown Trot is a brand new 5K (or 25 furlong) race benefiting Woodford Humane Society and hosted by Coolmore’s Ashford Stud. The entire course of this chip-timed road race is inside the farm, taking runners and walkers from the foaling barn to the stallion complex and beyond. It’s a really unique way to see American Pharoah and Justify’s home from the inside, and support a good cause while you do it! Participants will take home a race tee (while supplies last!) and 24.9 furlong race sticker, and be automatically entered in a drawing to win a gift card from either John’s Run/Walk Shop, or the Bluegrass Barkery. After the race, we’re excited to present some of our speediest Trotters with one-of-a-kind medals and prizes: engraved brass foal tags for the age group winners and gorgeous handmade wire horse sculptures for the top three men and women overall. If all of this sounds like a fun way to spend a Saturday morning, get signed up and join us! You can register for the Triple Crown Trot online at runsignup.com/triplecrowntrot through noon on Thursday, Aug. 22. You won’t be able to register on race day, so don’t let that deadline pass you by. Got questions about the Trot? Get in touch with us at 859-873-5491 or manager@woodfordhumane.org. A special reminder: We want our hosts to enjoy the race, too, so please remember that Coolmore’s Ashford Stud is a working farm. Guests will not be allowed to stray from the race route, and for the safety of the horses, dogs will not be allowed on the property.
