Monday, Sept. 2 • The main Library and Midway Branch will be closed for Labor Day.

Tuesday, Sept. 3 • Toddler Tales, 10 a.m., main library. (Ages 2-3) Enjoy songs, rhymes, stories and great activities. • Preschool Stories, 11 a.m., main library. (Ages 4-5) Books and more to enhance pre-literacy skills and to have fun. • Preschool Story Hour, 11 a.m., Midway branch. (Ages 5 and younger) Children (with a favorite adult) have fun with engaging books, songs and activities as they build their early literacy skills. • Art Attack, 3 p.m., Midway branch. (Grades K-4) Draw, trim, glue, paint and create. Join us for a creative art project, a snack and a story. • Writers’ Group, 6:30 p.m., main library. (Teens and adults) Kickstart your imagination with creative writing exercises.

Wednesday, Sept. 4 • Baby Story Time, 10 a.m., main library. (Ages 9-23 months) Songs, rhymes, stories and activities. • Teen Game Time, 4 to 5 p.m., main library. (Ages 11-18) Come try a wide variety of board, card and video games.

Thursday, Sept. 5 • La Plaza, 11:45 to 1 p.m., main library. Drop in for a lunchtime conversation in Spanish every Thursday. • Creative Café, 4 to 5 p.m., main library. (Ages 11-18) Try out our new Creative Café with maker kits ranging from knitting, Legos, art, photography, and so much more.

Friday, Sept. 6 • Friday Coffee Club, 9:30 a.m., main library. (Adults) Former U.S. Marshall and Woodford County Sheriff Loren Carl will tell tales of the Cornbread Mafia and other experiences from his law enforcement career. • Pokémon Party, 5 p.m., main library. (Families) Share your love of Pokémon with trivia, videos, crafts, food and card trading.

Saturday, Sept. 7 • High Tea at Downton Abbey, 2 to 4 p.m., main library. (Adults) Join us in celebration of the upcoming Downton Abbey movie premiere. Enjoy afternoon tea and refreshments while playing trivia and trying your hand at fun quizzes.
