Monday, Sept. 23 • What are You Reading? Book Group, 12 p.m., Midway branch. (Adults) Broaden your reading horizons. Share your favorite new book and author. Enjoy coffee, a snack and lively discussions. No assigned books. • Maker Monday: Science of Music, 4 p.m., main library. (Families) Learn about sound waves, tone, rhythm and more. Discover how math and music connect. Make fun instruments to keep. • Teen Jeopardy: Music, 4 to 5 p.m., main library. (Ages 11-18) Test your knowledge in teams regarding monthly topics. Winning team receives a prize.

Tuesday, Sept. 24 • Toddler Tales, 10 a.m., main library. (Ages 2-3) Enjoy songs, rhymes, stories and great activities. • Preschool Stories, 11 a.m., main library. (Ages 4-5) Books and more to enhance pre-literacy skills and to have fun. • Preschool Story Hour, 11 a.m., Midway branch. (Ages 5 and younger) Children (with a favorite adult) have fun with engaging books, songs and activities as they build their early literacy skills. • Microsoft Excel: Part 4/6, 2 to 3 p.m., main library. (Adults) Join us for six sessions to learn basic Excel concepts and skills. Participants should be able to use a keyboard and mouse. Attendance at all six sessions is highly encouraged. Taught by John Crawford and Jane Bryant. • Art Attack, 3 p.m., Midway branch. (Grades K-4) Draw, trim, glue, paint and create. Join us for a creative art project, a snack and a story. • Tween Time: Gaming Culture, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., main library. (Ages 8-11) Learn about popular video games, why you love them and play some together. • Banned Books Read Aloud, 6 p.m., main library. (Adults and teens ages 15+) Join us in reading passages and sharing the history from your favorite banned or challenged books. • Tuesday Evening Book Club, 6:30 p.m., Versailles Brewing Company. (Adults) Discuss “The Promise” by Ann Weisgarber.

Wednesday, Sept. 25 • Baby Story Time, 10 a.m., main library. (Ages 9-23 months) Songs, rhymes, stories and activities. • Microsoft Excel: Part 5/6, 2 to 3 p.m., main library. (Adults) Join us for six sessions to learn basic Excel concepts and skills. Participants should be able to use a keyboard and mouse. Attendance at all six sessions is highly encouraged. Taught by John Crawford and Jane Bryant. • Anime and Manga Club, 4 to 5:30 p.m., main library. (Ages 11-18) Sample first episodes of anime, check out the featured manga of the month and eat Japanese snacks. • Evening Family Story Time, 6:30 p.m., Midway branch. (Families) Unwind at the library as a family with evening story time. Bring your dinner or snack and join us for stories, puppets and crafts. Pick out a great book from our special stack to take home and read before bed that night. Pajamas are optional.

Thursday, Sept. 26 • La Plaza, 11:45 to 1 p.m., main library. Drop in for a lunchtime conversation in Spanish every Thursday. • Microsoft Excel: Part 6/6, 2 to 3 p.m., main library. (Adults) Join us for six sessions to learn basic Excel concepts and skills. Participants should be able to use a keyboard and mouse. Attendance at all six sessions is highly encouraged. Taught by John Crawford and Jane Bryant. • Creative Café, 4 to 5 p.m., main library. (Ages 11-18) Try out our new Creative Café with maker kits ranging from knitting, Legos, art, photography, and so much more. • Coloring for Grown-Ups, 6 p.m., Midway branch. (Adults and teens) Coloring can relieve stress and anxiety while promoting creativity. Revisit your youth and color with other adults using wax crayons, colored pencils or markers. Unwind with a cup of tea and use your imagination to create a beautiful picture.

Friday, Sept. 27 • Friday Morning Book Club, 9:30 a.m., main library. (Adults) Discuss “Housekeeping” by Marilynne Robinson. • Forth Friday Story Time, 10:30 a.m., Midway branch. (Ages 0-5) Storytime is a great opportunity to introduce babies, toddlers and preschoolers to the library and work on important early literacy skills. Join us the fourth Friday of each month for books, games, music and crafts. • Tween Time: Smash Bros. Tournament, 4 to 5 p.m., Midway branch. (Ages 8-11) Come play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the library’s Nintendo Switch.

Saturday, Sept. 28 • Celebrate fREADdom, 12 to 3 p.m., main library. (Adults and teens) Drop in for our Banned Book Week finale to learn more about literary censorship, book trivia, a “mugshot” photo booth, book-inspired refreshments and more.
