Win a Barkery box subscription, help homeless pets

You can find a subscription box service for just about anything your heart desires these days, from fashion to food, and pets are not left out. Boxes of toys, treats, and other goodies arrive on doorsteps across the nation all the time. Most subscription services come from big, distant corporations, however; so if you’re passionate about shopping local and supporting small businesses, you may have passed on a subscription box for your dog before now. Well, now there’s a unique opportunity to win a year-long supply of goodies for your pet, all from a Lexington-local business, and support the homeless pets at Woodford Humane all at the same time! A $5 raffle ticket is all it takes to get in the running for a 12-month Bluegrass Barkery box subscription for your pet. Each month for a year, a package of hand-baked, hand-decorated cookies, toys, and treats will be delivered right to the raffle winner’s doorstep! You’ll even be able to customize your subscription based on your dog’s dietary needs. Plus, you’ll also take home a West Paw dog bed sized to fit your pup, and up to 12 washes at the self-serve dog wash station at the Barkery’s sister business, the Local Wag. If you’re not already familiar, the Bluegrass Barkery and the Local Wag are Lexington locals who specialize in providing premium quality food, treats, toys and care for dogs (and cats…but mostly dogs). Their pet foods and treats are made from human grade ingredients, and they seek out toys that are American made and sourced from recycled and eco-friendly materials. But from a dog’s perspective, what really sets the Bluegrass Barkery apart is those specialty cookies and birthday cakes baked and decorated in house. Who can resist peanut butter icing?! If the idea of all those treats and toys makes your dog’s ears perk up, and the convenience of a box delivered right to your door makes your ears perk up, pick up a raffle ticket for your chance to be the lucky winner. All proceeds from the Barkery box raffle come right back to Woodford Humane Society to help the pets still waiting for homes full of toys all their own. Raffle tickets are available online at woodfordhumane.org, at our adoption center, and at Bluegrass Barkery and Local Wag locations in Lexington. We’ll draw the winner at our Canine Olympics event on Oct. 20. Got questions? You can reach us at 859-873-5491 or manager@woodfordhumane.org to find out more.
