WCHS GIRLS SOCCER: The Lady Yellow Jackets began postseason play Wednesday against Spencer County. That game was not completed in time for this issue. If Woodford won, the Lady Jackets will play in the district championship Thursday at 8 p.m. against the winner of Anderson and Shelby counties.

WCHS BOYS’ BASKETBALL: Tryouts for freshmen will be held Oct. 16 at Falling Springs from 4-5:30 p.m. Sophomores, juniors and senior tryouts will be held Oct. 17 at the same time. Players must bring their sports physicals.

AMARTAE RICE: The Yellow Jackets’ leading rusher was named the ABC 36 Player of the Week for his performance against West Jesamine.

WCMS FOOTBALL: The 7th grade Tigers play for a conference championship Thursday, Oct. 10 at Royal Spring Middle School.

MIDWAY UNIVERSITY: Goalkeeper Rebekah McKee had a combined 25 saves over two games to earn River States Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 30-Oct. 6.
