Lancaster

James E. Lancaster, 70, husband of Courtenay Wright Lancaster, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019. Born on July 12, 1949, in Versailles, he was the son of the late Jimmy and Martha Cloyd Lancaster. He was a former employee of Rand McNally and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam. He was a bus driver for Woodford County for over 20 years and a member of the Selective Service Board for the State of Kentucky. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Courtenay (Steve) Coonrod, Lexington; Jaime Lancaster and Melissa (Jeff) Hankins, both of Versailles; and a granddaughter, Emmaline Hankins. He was preceded in death by two uncles, Earl and William Cloyd. Graveside services were held Monday, Oct. 7, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, by John Drinkwater. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lifehouse for Animals.
