Mitchell


David Allen Mitchell, 63, husband of Jenny Mitchell, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019. Born on May 3, 1956, in Versailles, he was the son of William J. and Patsy Mitchell. He was a member of FFA and graduated from Woodford County High School in 1974. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a sister, Brenda (Don) Lampton, Lexington; a brother, Donald (Kelly) Mitchell, Midway; sister-in-law’s, Angela Ruble, Lexington; and Mona (Jimmy) Doolin, Garrard County; mother-in-law, Shirley Ruble, Lexington; and three nephews, Lucas, Adam and Logan Mitchell. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Mitchell. Services were held Saturday, Oct. 5, at Mt Vernon Baptist Church, Versailles, by the Rev. David Barron. Casket bearers were Lucas Mitchell, Adam Mitchell, Logan Mitchell, John Hymer III, John Hymer II, Jason Wachter and Bryan Sharp. Honorary casket bearers were Joe Long, Jimmy Gaunce and Curtis Adams. Burial followed in Midway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt Vernon Baptist Church.
