District Court Due to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, Woodford District Court held a special jail docket Wednesday, Jan. 22, with Judge Sarah Hays presiding. Traffic No operator’s/moped license – Christopher L. Jones, $143 plus nine days with nine days credit. DUI – Donald J. White, combined with failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance and operating on suspended/revoked operator’s license, $893 plus 37 days, serve seven days with credit.

Misdemeanors Disorderly conduct, second-degree – Shelley R. Campbell, 109 Sable Avenue, combined with observed operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and third-degree criminal mischief, $868. Theft by deception (includes cold checks) – Willard R. Wentworth, address unavailable, $160.50 plus two days with credit.

Police Reports Versailles police responded to three vehicle accidents involving injuries, 10 non-injury accidents, one domestic-related complaint, issued one citation/summons and made two arrests. On Jan. 16 at 7:26 a.m., a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Gregory T. Darst, 57, of Loretto, was exiting the Bluegrass Parkway East onto Troy Pike and struck a Volkswagen Jetta driven by Robert C. Miller, 55, of Lawrenceburg, that was attempting to turn left from Troy Pike onto the parkway. Police say Darst failed to yield. Woodford EMS personnel responded to the wreck. On Jan. 17 at 11:06 a.m., a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Mikhaela V. Kostos, 20, of Nicholasville, was northbound on Pisgah Pike when she lost control, ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree head-on. She told police a box inside the vehicle became wedged against the accelerator. She was taken to Bluegrass Community Hospital. On Jan. 17 at 11:45 a.m., a Ford F-150 driven by Robert Z. Clements, 56, of 1694 Hedden Road, ran into a wall at KORT Physical Therapy after he lost control during a coughing episode. (A photo of the accident was in last week’s Sun.) Clements was taken to Bluegrass Community Hospital. On Jan. 9, $250 in cash was reported stolen from a Lexington Street convenience store. On Jan. 25, failure to report an accident that caused $600 worth of damage to a Chevrolet Colorado was reported at the Kroger fuel station. On Jan. 26, police made an arrest on Blackhawk Circle for careless driving, no registration plates, failure to illuminate head lamps, DUI and failure of owner to maintain required insurance. On Jan. 26, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported on Falling Springs Boulevard. On Jan. 25, a vehicle was reported leaving the scene of an accident on Quail Run Road. On Jan. 24, police issued a citation/summons on Steele Road for operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. On Jan. 23, a smart phone worth $900 was reported stolen at Save-A-Lot. On Jan. 21, mail theft of lithium ion batteries and a battery charger worth a total of $32 was reported on Huntertown Road. On Jan. 18, a Hyundai Tucson worth $16,000 and $100 in cash were reported stolen from a home on Macey Avenue. On Jan. 23, a 2008 Lexus E-250 was reported vandalized at a home on Royal Ridge Court. On Jan. 20, a Glock handgun worth $300 and Xbox 1 worth $200 were reported stolen from a home on Dunroven Road. On Jan. 21, a 1998 Buick Century worth $1,500 and $20 in cash were reported stolen from a home on Tyrone Pike. On Jan. 4, video voyeurism and possession/viewing of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor were reported on Richardson Street in Midway.

Fire Reports City Firefighters made 26 EMS assists from Jan. 21 to Jan. 27. On Jan. 23, they responded to smoke in a home on Montgomery Avenue. On Jan. 25, they investigated a controlled burn at a Cleveland Avenue home. On Jan. 26, they responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Lexington and North Main streets, another at the intersection of the U.S. 60 Bypass and Industry Drive and smoke in a home on Arbor Place Drive. On Jan. 26, they responded to an illegal controlled burn on Hastings Lane, a fire alarm at Yokohama, and a fire alarm at Margaret Hall Manor.

County On Jan. 22, they responded to a malfunctioning fire alarm on Pinckard Pike. On Jan. 23, they checked a controlled burn on Leestown Road.
