Burt


Philip J. Burt, 86, widower of Marilyn A. Burt, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts and was the son of the late Oscar and Elsie Doucette Burt. He was a retired mechanical engineer for GTE Sylvania and an active member of St. Leo Catholic Church. Survivors include four children, Brenda (Joe) Strehl, Versailles; Philip (Gail) Burt, Ft. White, Florida; Cathy (Scott) Anderson, Versailles; and Caroline (Eddie) Dillon, Lexington; a brother, George (Barbara) Burt, North Port, Florida; six grandchildren, Joseph (Rachel) Strehl, Shelbyville; Andrew Strehl, Lexington; Kristen (Travis) McHenry, Rockvale, Tennessee; Logan Anderson, Luke Dillon and Amelia Dillon, all of Lexington; and a great-grandson, Eli Anderson, Rockvale, Tennessee. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Burt. A funeral Mass was held Saturday, Feb. 29, at St. Leo Catholic Church, by Fr. Chris Clay.
