Ask an Officer
Question: What sort of policies has the Versailles Police Department temporarily changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both in terms of how they investigate crimes and how officers protect themselves and those they encounter on duty? Answer: In these very challenging times, the likes of which we have never seen before, VPD wants to make certain the community knows its dispatchers and officers remain working 24/7 to assure that all of Woodford County remains the same safe community it’s always been. As a result of the Covid-19 situation, VPD is asking the community to call (859) 873-3126 for all non-emergency matters, such as requesting police and accident reports, obtaining fingerprint cards, and filing certain types of criminal reports (i.e. misdemeanor thefts, property damage, non-violent offenses, accidents, etc.). In order to comply with medical professionals’ directions regarding social distancing, please avoid in-person visits to VPD for all non-emergency matters. As always, individuals should call 911 or enter VPD any time they have an emergency. We want to thank the community for their patience and support while these events are resolved. If you have a question you’d like to ask the Versailles Police Department, please email it to email@example.com.
