Magazine salesman arrested for ignoring emergency order

A 38-year-old man from New Orleans was arrested Monday night after ignoring warnings to stop selling magazine subscriptions door-to-door, Versailles police said. Jenry J. Craft is accused of violating Gov. Andy Beshear’s executive order that allowed only “life-sustaining businesses” to continue operating. According to the police citation, after a second warning, Craft said he was going to wait for a ride and walked to a pull off area on Huntertown Road. He was arrested later after showing up at the front door of a Eureka Drive resident and trying to make sales. Police said Craft was the subject of two out of state non-extradition warrants for contempt of court and failure to appear on charges of solicitation. He was taken to the Woodford County Detention Center, where he was released on personal recognizance the following day.
