Police Reports Versailles police responded to two vehicle accidents involving injuries, four non-injury accidents, three domestic-related complaints and made three arrests. On Feb. 29 at 11:14 a.m., a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Geoffrey Dennis, 67, address unavailable, was merging from KY 341 to East Leestown West when he failed to yield to a Ford F-150 driven by Randell R. Cottingim, 40, of Lexington, that was westbound on East Leestown Road. A passenger in Cottingim’s vehicle, Alberta L. Smith, 48, was taken to Baptist Hospital. Police say inattention on the part of Dennis caused the crash. On Feb. 29 at 3:44 p.m., an Oldsmobile Intrigue driven by Omar Muhammad, 18, of Frankfort, was westbound on Frankfort Street preparing to turn left onto Camden Avenue while a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Kirby Beaty, 70, of Nicholasville, was eastbound on Frankfort Street. Each driver said he had the green light. A witness said Muhammad failed to yield. A passenger in Muhammad’s vehicle, Corey Reyes, 17, of the same address, was taken to Bluegrass Community Hospital. On April 13, police made an arrest at a Russell Avenue home for alcohol intoxication in a public place and third-degree assault on a peace officer. On April 13, harassing communications and third-degree terroristic threatening were reported at a government building on Court Street. On April 8, theft by deception involving $9,500 in cold checks was reported at a home on Woodlark Road. On April 13, police made an arrest at a Lexington Road gas station involving receiving a stolen firearm and third-degree possession of a controlled substance. On April 11, a Kentucky EPO/DVO was reported violated at Kroger. On April 6, a mailbox and plank fence at a home on McCowans Ferry Road were reported vandalized, with damage estimated at $500. On April 8, a black iPhone 8 worth $231.97 was reported stolen on Old Frankfort Pike. On April 7, an automobile was reported vandalized at a home on Morgan Street. Fire Reports City Firefighters made two EMS assists from April 7-13. On April 9, they responded to an electrical short on Ridgewood Drive. On April 10, they responded to a carbon monoxide incident on Rose Hill Avenue. On April 11, they responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of South Hill Road and South Main Street. On April 12, they responded to a smoke complaint at Margaret Hall Manor and a fire alarm, but no fire, on Flint Ridge Road.

On April 7, they responded to a computer explosion that caused a fire on Ashby Circle, washed off Midway Road after a deer was struck by a vehicle, and checked a controlled burn on Laurel Way. On April 9, they responded to a vehicle accident on the Bluegrass Parkway West. On April 11, they responded to an illegal burn on Delaney Ferry Road and a woodpile on fire next to a house on Peach Tree Road. On April 12, they responded to alarms triggered by burnt food on Eagle Crest Drive and Hedden Road. On April 12, they performed a carbon monoxide detector investigation on Mundys Landing Road and responded to a false alarm on Lexington Road.
