Phillip “Phil” Long, 78, husband of Pat Long, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Born on Oct. 4, 1941, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Eddie and Mae Belle Smith Long. He was the owner/operator of Phil’s Paint and Body Shop, a member of Millville Baptist Church, the former assistant chief of the Woodford County Fire Department, and a former Woodford County Deputy Sheriff. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa (Billy) Brothers and Karen Long Keeling, both of Frankfort; two sisters, Betty Eades, Frankfort; and Margie Gatewood, Georgetown; seven grandchildren, Josh, Caleb and Eli McIntosh; Morgan (Bill) Rose, Logan (Jenna) Brothers, and Alyssa and Bethany Keeling; and two great-grandchildren, Easton McIntosh and Barrett Rose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Long; and a grandson, Jared Keeling. A graveside service was held Monday, June 15, at Rose Crest Cemetery in Versailles, by the Rev. Jeff Douglas. Casket bearers were John Smith, Josh McIntosh, Caleb McIntosh, Eli McIntosh, Logan Brothers and Bill Rose. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Millville Baptist Church.
