VPD: Clark death ‘active homicide’ case

Woodford County Coroner Ronald Owens said David E. Clark, 66, was shot to death at his home Sunday evening, and the case is being investigated as a homicide, according to Versailles Assistant Police Chief Rob Young. Owens said he was dispatched to Clark’s home at 9690 Clifton Road around 8 p.m. Sunday, where Clark was found shot to death. Tuesday, Young said there had been no arrests in the case and investigators continue to track leads. Clark was a retired pipefitter who was well known in the Millville area, lived alone and enjoyed farming and riding his motorcycle, Young said. “By all accounts, he was just a good guy,” he said. Clark’s body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy, Owens said.
