Police Reports Versailles police responded to two vehicle accidents involving injuries, seven non-injury accidents, issued three citations/summonses and made two arrests. On July 17 at 9:52 p.m., a Dodge Ram driven by Noah T. Marcum, 21, of 418 Elm Street, turned right from McCowans Ferry Road onto Falling Springs Boulevard and traveling in the right lane. He told police his passenger opened the passenger door and jumped out, and that he may have struck his passenger with the right rear wheel. The passenger was taken to UK Chandler Hospital. On July 18 at 12:38 a.m., a Volkswagen EOS driven by Georgene Gravitt, 77, of Shelbyville, crossed the median on Frankfort Road and began driving eastbound in the westbound lanes. Her vehicle struck a metal signpost. She was treated at the scene by Woodford County EMS personnel. Police say a medical condition likely caused the accident. On July 14, kitchen and other items worth $500 were reported stolen from a Fords Mill Road home. On July 22, a citation/summons was issued on Lexington Road for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and no tail lamps. On July 22, a garage door opener worth $25 was reported stolen from a vehicle on Merrywood Drive in Midway. On July 21, a citation/summons was issued in a South Main Street lot for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. On July 21, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon was reported at a Mundys Landing Road home. On July 20, a wooden door at a St. Clair Street home was reported vandalized, with damage estimated at $100, and a black water hose worth $30 was reported stolen. On July 21, police made an arrest on McCowans Ferry Road for DUI, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. On July 21, theft of a motor vehicle registration plate worth $25 was reported on Will Parkway. On July 21, a 2014 Hyundai Sonata worth $15,000 was reported stolen from a home on Gayland Drive. On July 21, $50 in cash and checks were reported stolen from a vehicle on Merrywood Drive in Midway. On July 21, a satchel bag and wallet were reported stolen from a vehicle on Gayland Drive in Midway. On July 24, a citation/summons was issued on Frankfort Road for DUI. On July 22, an iPhone 7 plus and iPhone 6S worth $840 were reported stolen from a vehicle on Molly Street. On July 22, a counterfeit $20 was reported used to purchase three packs of cigarettes and a cup of coffee. On July 22, police made an arrest at a Highland Avenue home for violation of a Kentucky EPO, possession of marijuana and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. On July 24, theft by extortion involving two Target gift cards worth $1,000 was reported on Old Frankfort Pike. Fire Reports City Firefighters made 10 EMS assists from July 21 to July 27. On July 21, they responded to a cooking fire on Lane Circle. On July 23, they responded to a sprinkler activation at Quad/Graphics, a smoke detector activation on Fieldview Drive, a vehicle accident with injuries at the intersection of Tyrone Pike and Rose Hill Avenue, mutual aid requests by the Lawrenceburg and Anderson County fire departments, a motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident on Lexington Road, and assisted police on East Court Street. On July 25, they responded to a smoke detector activation in a Bellview Avenue home. On July 26, they responded to an outdoor equipment fire at Quad/Graphics and a smoke detector activation at Furlong Trace.

County Firefighters made two EMS assists from July 21 to July 27. On July 21, they investigated a hazardous materials situation on Georgetown Road. On July 22, they responded to a tree fire on Troy Pike. On July 23, they responded to a false alarm on McCracken Pike. On July 26, they responded to a grass fire on Weisenberger Mill Road.
