Eddie J. Collins, 69, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2020. The husband of Helen Gilbert Collins, Eddie was born April 8, 1951 to the late Zachaeus Collins and Louise Marcum Lynch in Richmond. A production manager for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, Eddie started working for Pepsi straight out of high school and was a dedicated employee for 52 years. He loved his job. In addition to the University of Kentucky football and basketball, Eddie enjoyed golfing, bowling, and both NASCAR and dirt track racing. He was often seen driving his ‘55 Chevy. In addition to his wife, Helen Gilbert Collins, Eddie is survived by his sons, Jeff Collins, Versailles; and Tim (Jeannie) Collins, Lawrenceburg; daughter, Sheila (Mark) Bell, Lebanon; sisters, Virginia “Jenny” Harris, Somerset; and Phyllis Edwards, Wilmore; brothers, Donnie (Betsy) Collins, Harrodsburg, Eugene (Brenda) Lynch; Randy (Ruth) Lynch and Michael Lynch, all of Wilmore; grandchildren, Andrew Collins, Brooklyn Bell, Savannah Bell, Tennis Bell, Bobby Cummins and Shane Cummins; and nine great-grandchildren. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Zachaeus Collins and Louise Marcum Lynch. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, Versailles, with Leonard Fitch officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Collins, Tim Collins, Jeff Collins, Joe Gilbert, Randy Lynch and Donnie Collins. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 3, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, Versailles.
