Bobby Eugene Carl, 85, died peacefully at his home Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020.

Born on Dec. 31, 1934, to Elzie and Myrtle Carl, he was a lifelong resident of Paynes Mill Road and a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran, having served in Germany, a Mason of 53 years, a member of Teamsters Local 651, a farmer and a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Carl; daughter, Tracie (Ted) Carl-Nagel; son, Bobby (Cherie) Carl Jr.; four grandchildren, Thomas (Jessica) Mims, Sam Nagel, Annabel Nagel and Alex Carl; brother, William (Pat) Carl; and two step-granddaughters, Brittani Wilhelm and Megan Huff.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, with Military Honors at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Those attending visitation and the graveside service must wear proper facial coverings and follow social distancing guidelines. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 1941 Bishop Lane, Suite 108, Louisville, Ky. 40218.
