Furlong

Jerry Wilson Furlong, 76, husband of Joan Peyton Furlong, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at his home in Harrodsburg.

Born on July 10, 1944, he was the son of the late William Edwin and Margaret Smith Furlong. He was a 1962 graduate of Lafayette High School. He served in the Army National Guard, was a retired electrician and attended Hopewell Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by a daughter, Karla Staley, Nicholasville; a brother, Bill (Margaret) Furlong, Versailles; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Furlong, Florida; four grandchildren, Robert Staley, Cash Staley, Chelsea Jackson and Cameron Furlong; and two great-grandchildren, Layla Wilkinson and Dexter Wilkinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Troy Edward Furlong.

Interment with military honors will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery at a later date.
