Margaret Hall Manor fire leaves one critically injured
A fire that began in an apartment in Margaret Hall Manor overnight Tuesday resulted in what acting Versailles Fire Chief Brandon Brown said were life-threatening injuries to a tenant.
The Versailles Fire Department was called to the scene Wednesday at 4:25 a.m.
Ann Miller, the regional property manager for Franklin Asset Management, which manages Margaret Hall Manor, said the victim, an elderly female, lived in a second-story apartment. She was taken to UK Chandler Hospital.
Eight tenants in four other apartments were displaced by water damage from the sprinklers, according to Woodford Emergency Management Director Drew Chandler. Chandler said his department is working with the American Red Cross and Salvation Army to provide assistance to the displaced tenants.
