A three-story building on North Main Street, historically known as the Woodford Hotel, has been sold for $700,000. Eric Carrico, as manager of Katy Ashford, LLC, purchased the building that was constructed in 1800 from Jon G. Hall and Linda Dempsey-Hall, according a Dec. 16 deed filed in the Woodford County clerk’s office. In November, the Versailles-Midway-Woodford County Board of Adjustment (BOA) approved a conditional-use permit that allows Carrico to operate a hotel/motel on the second and third floors of the historic building at 108, 110 and 112 North Main Street in downtown Versailles. Carrico told the BOA offering short-term rental apartments in the heart of downtown will give people “a central place” to stay while visiting local distilleries, other tourist attractions and attending races at Keeneland. The eight apartment units will have a maximum of 32 occupants, according to a BOA staff report. Two offices, a photography studio and two beauty salons are located in the first-floor commercial spaces of the building, the staff report stated.
