Police Reports Versailles police responded to two vehicle accidents involving injuries, 20 non-injury accidents, three domestic-related complaints, issued two citations/summonses and made three arrests. On March 5 at 8:09 a.m., a Toyota Cruiser driven by Bryce L. Patterson, 16, was en route to Woodford County High School when he rear-ended a Ford Focus driven by Alexis A. Smith, 26, of 810 Tyrone Pike at the intersection of Elm Street and Woodson Drive. Patterson told police he was following too closely. Smith said she was stopped at the railroad tracks when her vehicle was struck. Woodford EMS responded to the scene. On March 11 at 11:54 a.m., a Honda Civic driven by Alexander J. Ratliff, 16, of 210 Cottage Grove in Midway, was westbound on the U.S. 60 Bypass approaching Crossfield Drive. He said a vehicle that later fled the scene ran a red light, and when he braked and turned to avoid it, he struck a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Haley M. Courtney, 29, of 123 Ashmore Street and a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Adam M. Joust, 31, of 144 Highview Drive. The Santa Fe also struck a Volvo XC 60 driven by Gary M. Saxman, 64, of 492 Ashley Place. Woodford EMS responded to the scene. On March 20, a citation/summons was issued on Normandy Road for possession of marijuana. On March 17, police made an arrest at a Dan Drive home for giving an officer false identifying information, fleeing or evading police on foot and failure to appear. On March 16, a 12-pack of Body Armor bottled water worth $40 was reported stolen from a Paddock Drive home. On March 16, a Ruger 9 mm handgun worth $300 was reported stolen from a building on Crossfield Drive. On March 17, a Gooseneck chassis and CSX Connex shipping container worth a total of $20,000 were reported stolen from an industrial site on Fishers Street in Midway. On March 18, identity theft was reported at a home on Ridge View Road. On March 17, identity theft was reported on South Hill Road. On March 17, two Stihl chainsaws worth a total of $2,095 were reported stolen from a rental storage facility on North Main Street. On March 16, a citation/summons was issued on Amsden Avenue for possession of drug paraphernalia and three traffic violations. Fire Reports City Firefighters made seven EMS assists and installed car seats in two vehicles from March 16 to 22. On March 20, they responded to a malfunctioning smoke detector in a Mildred Street home and an EMS run to Tyrone Pike was cancelled en route.

On March 17, they responded to an unfounded report of heavy black smoke on the Bluegrass Parkway, an illegal burn on Oregon Road, a grass fire on Milner Road and two false alarms on McCracken Pike. On March 19, they responded to a chimney fire on Watts Ferry Road. On March 20, they responded to a controlled burn on Scarborough Drive, and an unfounded report of a controlled burn on Mundys Landing Road in Jessamine County. On March 21, they responded to an uncontrolled controlled burn on Misty Lane and assisted with a lock-out on Normandy Circle.
