Winter weather hampers food pantry operations
The Food Pantry for Woodford County’s executive director says winter weather forced its closure on two occasions prior to this week, when two rounds of snow and sleet hit the area.
“That makes a real hardship for our clients because they just can’t come when they need it because we’re not open because of the weather,” said Sharon Hardin.
In an effort to help out those in desperate need of food, she and volunteer Nancy Redden do try to open the doors on a limited basis on days impacted by winter weather, she added.
