Setting a school record, 477 Midway student-athletes earned a spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the 2024 fall semester. This topped the previous high mark of 465, set in the fall of 2023. To qualify, a student must obtain a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
And, this wasn’t the only academic record to be broken. Of the 477 honorees, 153 earned a perfect 4.0 GPA, 20 more than the athletic department’s previous record. Midway also had 262 student-athletes make the dean’s list, an honor given to those who earn a grade point average of 3.6 or better.
In total, the athletic department had a cumulative GPA of 3.163, with 22 teams earning at least a 3.0.
Women’s swimming had the highest grade-point average at 3.661, with western riding (3.596), women’s cross country (3.530) and hunt seat riding (3.518) also coming in higher than a 3.5 GPA. All 10 members of the women’s cross-country team made the honor roll.
Baseball led the way with 57 players on the honor roll and 34 on the dean’s list, while women’s soccer had a department-best with 21 members earning a perfect GPA.
