A final development plan for an Ace Hardware store on West Leestown Road (Midway Investments, LLC) was reviewed by the Technical Review Committee (TRC) on Jan. 23 and then sent to the Versailles-Midway-Woodford County Planning Commission.
The proposed 10,500-square-foot hardware store is near the intersection of Georgetown Road (Ky. 341). A now-closed gas station operated on the site, which is adjacent to a Woodford County Ambulance Service property. It was noted there currently is no designated left-hand turn lane in front of the proposed hardware store.
Barrel warehouses
A development plan to construct two additional Woodford Reserve barrel warehouses at 1220 Georgetown Road (Ky. 341) was again sent to the commission after being reviewed by TRC. Woodford County Fire Chief Melvin Montgomery, who serves on TRC, said he was satisfied with the responses he has received with regard to fire protection being sufficient to address concerns he raised during previous reviews of the plan.
Rose Ridge lots
The final record plat for 20 residential lots in the Rose Ridge subdivision on Old Dry Ridge Road was reviewed and sent to the commission. Project engineer Rory Kahly, of EA Partners, said this plat is the last piece of the subdivision, which has no streetlights.
County Engineer Mary Beth Robson noted the City of Versailles now requires streetlights, so that issue may need to be addressed before plat approval. Also, there’s an existing floodplain through the lots being platted, but if a conditional map revision is approved that designation will be removed, she said.
Also, a minor amended plat consolidating land parcels on Rosewood Drive in the Rose Ridge subdivision was sent to the commission following TRC’s review.
