Special to the Sun

The Midway branch of the Woodford County Public Library will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, Sept. 8, for a much-needed makeover, but library services aren’t going anywhere.

While the building is being refreshed, library services will be brought directly to the community through the library’s bookmobile. Starting the week of Sept. 8, the bookmobile will be stationed in front of Midway Baptist Church, 121 S. Winter St., Monday through Friday, where visitors can: pick up reserved items, browse and check out books, sign up for a library card and reserve materials from the Main Library in Versailles.

The bookmobile’s weekly schedule is Monday and Tuesday, 5 to 7 p.m., and Wednesday through Friday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. There will be no service on the weekends, but the main location in Versailles is open.

“We’re excited for the Midway community to see the improvements coming to their library,” said Director Stacy Thurman. “In the meantime, the bookmobile will make sure our patrons still have easy access to the library’s collections and services.”

Patrons are encouraged to stop by during any of the scheduled times to grab their books, explore the shelves and stay connected to everything the Woodford County Library offers.
