Hi. It’s me. The car you decided to practice your breathing exercises on the bumper of this morning.

Just a friendly reminder. The speed limit on Midway Road is 55 mph. I know, shocking. It’s almost like we’re not on the Autobahn. Also, there are deer out here — big ones, fast ones and the occasional “I have no idea what I’m doing” deer that will absolutely ruin your day if you’re treating the road like a racetrack.

If you’re running late, I genuinely feel for you. But, tailgating me won’t open a time portal, summon a teleportation spell or magically convince my car to break the laws of physics. It will, however, make me wonder if you’re trying to read my license plate number . . . in braille.

So please, chill.

Back it up.

Let’s all get where we’re going without involving roadside deer or our insurance companies.

With love and a very sassy side-eye,

The Car That Is Not Your Personal Pace Car

Editor’s Note – The Sun thanks Sherry Smith-Carl for this timely reminder about the perils of Midway Road, which applies to other major rural routes like US 33, Tyrone Pike, Clifton Road, Pisgah Pike, Keene Troy, Keene Versailles, Shannon Run, Pisgah Pike, McCracken Pike, and so many others. Be Woodford Smart out there, people!
