BIG BROTHERS AND BIG SISTERS OF THE BLUEGRASS, which includes Woodford County, partnered with Midway’s Heirloom Restaurant on March 25, where Executive Chef Jacob Cox, a Midway resident, hosted a homemade pasta cooking class for the kids and mentors. Meredith Watts, executive director of the Bluegrass group and a Versailles native and Midway resident, is always looking for outings and opportunities where Central Kentucky businesses can partner with them. The mission of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bluegrass, as described by Watts, is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Serving Central Kentucky, Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of the Bluegrass matches children ages 6–18 (“Littles”) with caring adult mentors (“Bigs”) who provide consistent encouragement, guidance, and support.
