THREE ELVES, from left, Laura Beth Krance, Willa Devine and Sabina Gigli, who also happen to be Midwegians, were caught casting spells under the Elven Pergola in the magical valley that parallels East Main Street.
MAGICAL CREATURES, a part-human fox and part-human deer, Nyx and Joanna Marring, were found enjoying lunch at Don Jockey. Interestingly, they are mother and daughter!
THE SPRITES who run the magical drugstore on East Main Street, usually known as Railroad Drugstore, were busy all day brewing potions of a wide sort, which usually involved ice cream and chocolate. From left, co-owner Ken Glass and Anthony Vanover.
FAIRY TWINS enjoyed having their faces painted in the magical valley. From the left, Madeline and Elizabeth Jacobs, both 5.

This past Saturday. Midway was transformed into “Enchanted Midway.” A land populated by fairies, sprites, pixies and magical creatures who roamed the town, enjoying its restaurants and shopping.
They were able to meet real wolf pups at the Woodford Theater and Wine Bar, buy books or get temporary magical tattoos at A Likely Story, enjoy ice cream at Railroad Drug & Old Time Soda Fountain, or wander in the magical valley while enchanted brews from Sno Top Shaved Ice and Coffee was served. And, the elven children were able to have their faces painted.
If you weren’t there, then you missed a truly mystical experience . . . one that the Midway Merchants Association plans to hold again next year—assuming the moon is right and the magical creatures deign to return.
