JACKIE ANTHONY, with daughter Cassie.
By Jackie Anthony
I am running for the Democratic nomination for Woodford County Clerk in the May 19 Primary Election, number two on the ballot list of candidates.
I was raised in Midway and now live in Versailles with my spouse, Brad Jones, and our daughter, Cassie. Woodford County has always been home, and my deep connection to this community has shaped both my personal values and my professional path.
My leadership experience began as a kitchen manager at Uptown Chatter, followed by my role as coordinator for the ETC after-school program at Simmons Elementary. These early roles taught me the importance of organization, communication and service to others.
I have worked in hospitality at Holly Hill Inn since 2010 as general manager, where I have proudly served our community for more than a decade. In addition, I have experience within the Woodford County Clerk’s Office, having served as a deputy clerk. This combination of customer service, administrative experience and firsthand knowledge of the clerk’s office has prepared me well for this role.
I come from one of the largest African American families in Midway, and take great pride in our local history. My father and I both attended Midway Elementary, and I was part of the first sixth grade class at Northside Elementary. These roots continue to ground my commitment to Woodford County.
I currently serve on the boards of Spark of Hope and the Woodford County Community Fund, further strengthening my dedication to giving back and staying engaged with the needs of our community.
As Woodford County clerk, my goal is to serve with efficiency, fairness and transparency while keeping the door open to everyone. I am committed to clear communication, consistent action and ensuring the clerk’s office remains accessible and welcoming to all.
I would be honored to serve Woodford County in this capacity and to have the community's vote for Woodford County Clerk.
