Marvin E. (Jobo) Brown Jr., of Versailles, passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 59. He was born July 10, 1966, in Berea, Kentucky, to the late Marvin E. and Carolyn Wise Brown.

Jobo was a man with a big heart who loved his family and friends. He could tell a joke that would have you laughing for days and could sing an Alan Jackson song like no other.

Although Jobo’s life choices led him down a dark and lonely path that kept him distant from many that he loved and from many that loved him, who needed, wanted and deserved his love and presence in their lives in return, it did not erase the person he was at his core.

Jobo leaves behind his sons, Devon Wray Brown (Tara Lowry) and Mason Kincaid Brown; daughter, Kerra LeNae Brown; their mother, Teresa Kincaid Brown, all of Versailles; son, Grayson Downs of Georgetown; his and Teresa’s grandsons, Wyatt Brown, Elliot Brown and Lewis Brown, all of Versailles; sisters, Marlene G. Brown and Pamela J. Brown, both of Lexington; and brother, Brian E. Brown (Tina) of Lawrenceburg.

In addition to his parents, Jobo was preceded in death by his brother, Clinton D. Brown (Teresa) of Frankfort.

Jobo is now the person we all once knew. He is whole again, free from the pain, struggles and demons that haunted him for far too long. Brother, it is now time to get your rest.

A memorial gathering to celebrate his life will be held on July 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. at M.C.’s Parties and Events, 133 Macey Blvd., Versailles, KY 40383.
