I’m Cassie Barnes, a Woodford County native and candidate for County Attorney in the November 3 general election. I’m a 2001 WCHS graduate, 2005 Murray State University graduate, and 2008 graduate of University of Kentucky College of Law. I’ve practiced law in Woodford County, focusing on Woodford County families and matters, since 2008. I’ve served as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for the 14th Judicial Circuit, and currently serve as an Assistant Woodford County Attorney. I care deeply about this community. My husband, Chris, and I are blessed to raise our three children, Harris, Ruby, and Emmett, here. During my 18 years practicing in Woodford County, I have formed vital working relationships with local officials, have appeared before nearly every board and governing body in the County, and have practiced at all levels of the Kentucky court system. That experience confirmed for me there is no place I’d rather live and work than Woodford County. I am proud to be a Woodford County attorney, and the opportunity to be your next County Attorney is a responsibility and honor that would be the highlight of my legal career. As a current Assistant County Attorney, I know the job, the commitment and dedication necessary to be successful in the role, and I am ready to serve on day one. If elected, I pledge to serve as a full-time County Attorney, and will endeavor every day to maintain the high standard of service that Woodford County expects and deserves from its County Attorney’s Office.
