My name is Donald Mitchell, and I’m a lifelong resident of District 1, which includes Midway and northern Woodford County. My roots in this community run deep. I’ve lived here, worked here, raised my family here, and spent my life farming the land I’m proud to call home.
As a farmer and small business owner, I understand the importance of planning ahead, managing resources wisely, and making responsible decisions for the future. I have a heart for service and a long history of involvement in our community at the local, state, and national levels. I’ve served on numerous local boards, including Woodford County Parks and Recreation, and currently serve with Farm Bureau and the Woodford Conservation District. At the state level, I serve on the Kentucky Agriculture Board, and nationally, on the GAP Connections Board, which oversees producer training and certification. I also previously served on the Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation Board of Directors through a gubernatorial appointment.
I’m running for District 1 Magistrate because I believe local government should be about people—not politics. I will listen, be accessible, and serve with honesty, accountability, and common sense.
I believe Woodford County can move forward while preserving what makes it unique. Growth should be thoughtful and responsible, considering taxpayers, infrastructure, our rural heritage, and farmland.
I’ll approach every decision carefully, consider the facts, and always keep the long-term interests of District 1 and Woodford County at heart.
I would be honored to earn your support.
Donald Mitchell,
Candidate for
District 1 Magistrate
