Woodford Hospital, LLC (Russell Pigg, president) purchased 16.2- and 5.15-acre adjoining parcels of land at the corner of Paynes Mill and Lexington roads for $6,591,500, according to a deed filed in the Woodford County Clerk’s office on Aug. 28. The land is located on a portion of the former Edgewood Farm property.

Russell Pigg is a president at Lifepoint Health, which owns Centerpoint Health-Versailles. Lifepoint, a company based in Brentwood, Tennessee, has made no formal announcement about purchasing the property or any plans for the land zoned P-1 professional office.

“My understanding is they’re in the very early phases of looking at expanding their services in Woodford County and Versailles,” Versailles Mayor Laura Dake told the Sun on Tuesday morning. However, she also acknowledged not knowing much about any plans beyond the land purchase.

“There’s no timeline at this time,” she said. “â€Ĥ So I think it’s a matter of waiting and seeing what transpires over the next months or even a year.”

However, “By purchasing the land,” Dake said, “Centerpoint Health-Versailles is clearly making a commitment to this community, and I’m excited to see where this goes in the future. I would suspect it means a new hospital, and (I’m) just excited to see where we are in the future.”
