MEGAN GARRISON, a resident of Midway and lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, spoke of her friend’s dad and his experience as a prisoner of war who “endured hunger, isolation and interrogation” for 405 days during the Vietnam War. She also shared a message from her friend’s dad during a ceremony at the Midway Cemetery on Sept. 18: Remember the missing in action and the families they’ve left behind. “… For families still waiting for answers,” Garrison said, “that wait can last for a lifetime.” (Photo by Bob Vlach)
