In the article “Plan to build a new J&B Food Mart/gas station moves forward,” in the Oct. 15, 2026, edition of The Woodford Sun, it incorrectly stated John Wilhoit’s objection to the zone change request. In an email to the Sun, he said, “My issue was not that a convenience store is inappropriate for downtown. My objection was that the scale of the convenience store and gas station, as shown in an artist’s rendition during the meeting, was way out of character for downtown and the neighborhood that backs up to the property. It looked like something much more appropriate for an interchange on Highway 60 on the way to Lexington, or at an interstate exit. In addition to it being out of character, I also raised concerns about the extra traffic that a new convenience store/gas station of this scale is sure to generate. Many people already complain about traffic problems downtown, and it seems to me that a development of this scale will make it worse.” The Sun apologizes to Mr. Wilhoit for this error.
In the article “1965 Woodford County Courthouse fire film premieres at library,” in the Oct. 22, 2026, edition of The Woodford Sun, Tommy McNeil was the Versailles resident who used his 8 mm handheld movie camera to film the fire. The Sun apologizes for this error.
