Arraignment set for Nov. 2 A 76-year-old Versailles man has been indicted on three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and a single count of third-degree sodomy. Donald Wayne Drury is scheduled to appear in Woodford Circuit Court for his arraignment on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. According to a direct indictment filed in the Woodford Circuit clerk's office on Oct. 12, Drury committed the sexual abuse offenses when he allegedly subjected a male juvenile (less than 16 years old) to sexual contact. The indictment further alleges that Drury, a former Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement officer, subjected the juvenile to deviant sexual intercourse. The alleged sex crimes occurred from Aug. 15, 2014, to Sept. 1, 2016, according to the indictment. The parents of a 15-year-old boy told police that they were friends with Drury, whom they entrusted to pick up their son from school and keep him when they could not, according to authorities. Police reported that Drury purchased clothing, electronics and other expensive items in exchange for the boy's loyalty and "consent" to engage in illegal sex acts. Drury allegedly discouraged the boy from talking to a therapist and told him that they'd both go to jail if he contacted the police, an affidavit stated.
