Woodford Hospital, LLC (Russell Pigg, president) purchased 16.2- and 5.15-acre adjoining parcels of land at the corner of Paynes Mill and Lexington roads for $6,591,500, according to a deed filed in the Woodford County Clerkâs office on Aug. 28. The land is located on a portion of the former Edgewood Farm property.
Russell Pigg is a president at Lifepoint Health, which owns Centerpoint Health-Versailles. Lifepoint, a company based in Brentwood, Tennessee, has made no formal announcement about purchasing the property or any plans for the land zoned P-1 professional office.
âMy understanding is theyâre in the very early phases of looking at expanding their services in Woodford County and Versailles,â Versailles Mayor Laura Dake told the Sun on Tuesday morning. However, she also acknowledged not knowing much about any plans beyond the land purchase.
âThereâs no timeline at this time,â she said. ââĤ So I think itâs a matter of waiting and seeing what transpires over the next months or even a year.â
However, âBy purchasing the land,â Dake said, âCenterpoint Health-Versailles is clearly making a commitment to this community, and Iâm excited to see where this goes in the future. I would suspect it means a new hospital, and (Iâm) just excited to see where we are in the future.â
