Seasons 99 for 1 Shelter
An overnight shelter for homeless persons in Woodford County will be provided Monday-Thursday and Saturday, 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. until March 31, 2020. The shelter will not be open on Fridays or Sundays.
Volunteers are needed each night to serve as overnight chaperones (three shifts to choose from: 6-11 p.m., 11 p.m.-3 a.m., 3-7 a.m.) and cooks/serving/kitchen clean-up staff (5:30-8 p.m.).

Christmas at Callie’s
Now through Dec. 18, Callie’s Homestyle Restaurant will have a “Blessing Boot Tree.” Take a stocking for a child and return wrapped boots by Wednesday, Dec. 18. This event is sponsored by Callie’s staff, Rep. Joe Graviss, Versailles Lion’s Club, American Legion, Sioux and Bruce Finney, Councilman Mike Coleman and a host of WC volunteers.
Woodford County Retired Teachers Association

Woodford County Woman’s Club
The members of the Woodford County Woman’s Club Garden Department will travel to Shelbyville on Dec. 12 to visit the Wakefield-Scearce Galleries and to have lunch at nearby Science Hill. Community Trust Bank Open House
The Community Trust Bank’s annual Christmas Open House will be Friday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at both the main and branch locations.
The next DAR meeting will be Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Woodford County Library with guest speaker Cheri Daniels from the Kentucky Historical Society discussing teas and teapots.
A free Christmas concert by the Bluegrass Area Jazz Association (BAJA) will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at St. Leo Catholic Church, 295 Huntertown Road.
WC Business and Professional Women’s Club
The Woodford County Business and Professional Women’s Club will hold their December meeting at the Paddock Restaurant on Monday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. The group will collect children’s books for the Literacy Campaign. The guest speaker will be Angie Stewart of RAW. She will speak to the group about the recovery initiative. Members are asked to bring personal items that will be donated to women in recovery. All are invited to attend this Christmas celebration, and there is no obligation to bring donations. Call President Brenda Richards at 846-4471 to make reservations.
The Kentucky Blood Center will have a blood drive Thursday, Dec. 26, from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Falling Springs Recreation Center’s multi-purpose room at 275 Beasley Drive.

The Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS), a group of moms who are expecting or have infants through preschool kids, will have bi-monthly meetings on Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at King’s Way Church. A Time to Talk
This is a support group for caregivers, parents and loved ones for those looking for a safe space to share, learn and receive support, as you walk with your loved ones through the struggles of drug addiction. It meets the first and third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at El Calvarro Church (Church of the Nazarene), Fellowship Hall, 721 Huntertown Road, Versailles.

(M&Ms) is a 501c3 non-profit after school program for middle school students whose mission is “to enhance academic achievement through mentoring.” The program is available Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. We are always looking for high school, college and adult mentors.
