Community Bible Study

Jack Jouett House Historic Site
On Saturday Oct. 17, from 2-3:30 p.m., we’ll have Dr. James Seaver in to talk about Kentucky’s cemeteries and burial sites. Attendees will learn tips for documenting sites, genealogy research, and commemorating historic cemeteries. Admission is free. We are located at 255 Craig’s Creek Road, Versailles.
Midway Toastmasters

Parkinson’s Exercise
& Support
Woodford County offers free classes and support for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers. Join us and experience exercise, encouragement, and fellowship.
Classes are at The Cross Center at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church, 480 Duckers Road, Midway (behind the church with ample parking). Please check in at the front desk for all classes.
Drums Alive is on Mondays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Beat the drums to the rhythm of music, movement, and laughter.
Punch Out Parkinson’s is on Tuesdays from 2:30-4 p.m. Enjoy fun, easy exercise, fellowship, and activities designed to keep you moving.
Monthly Support Group is on the third Thursday of each month with snacks and fellowship from 6-6:30 p.m. and a support group meeting from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Bring a snack to share.

Survivors of Suicide
The Woodford Survivors of Suicide Loss Group meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the community room (5th floor) of the WesBanco building. The address is 100 United Drive, Versailles. Please contact Julie Renner at 859-421-7697 if you have any questions or would like to attend.
Tree Seedlimg Sale
The Woodford County Master Gardeners will host a tree seedling sale at the Woodford Co. Extension office at 184 Beasley Dr. on Saturday, October 10 from 10 am until noon. There will be 16 kinds of Kentucky native tree seedlings, provided by the Kentucky Division of Forestry and nurtured by master gardeners this summer. They are $5 each. There will also be sassafras, white fringe tree, yellowwood and spicebush from the Woodford County 30,000 Trees Project for $15 each. Cash or check can be accepted for payment and there is a limit of 10 trees per person. For more information, contact the Extension office at 859-873-4601.

WCHS Class of 1966 Reunion
We are planning a celebration of our 60-year reunion on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 4-8 p.m. at The Woodford Club (formerly Woodford Hills Country Club), 3495 McCowans Ferry Rd.
The menu will be chicken tenders, best burger sliders, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans and cookies. A charcuterie board will be at each table. A cash bar will be available. The cost is $35 per person and the dress is casual.

2nd Annual Light up Woodford County
Join the Pink Sisters on Friday, Oct. 16 from 6 - 9 p.m. at The District downtown Versailles. Light Up Woodford County is in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This community event brings Woodford County together to honor survivors, remember those we have lost and support those currently facing breast cancer.
The evening will feature the Honor Walk at 6.30 p.m. on Main St., local vendors, music and activities. It’s an evening of community support and fun for all ages. Come help us turn Woodford County Pink.

Salvation Army Unit
The Woodford County Salvation Army Unit meets on the second Thursday of the month at Centerpoint Health at 9 a.m. in the second floor conference room. The unit is always looking for new volunteers. Salvation Army helps with many community organizations such as Coats and Shoes for Kids, Bluegrass Community Action, Family Resource Centers and the Red Kettle campaign. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Woodford County Woman’s Club
The Woodford County Woman’s Club welcomes all women in Woodford and surrounding counties to our monthly meetings, held on the first Wednesday of each month at 10:45 a.m. in the Versailles Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. October’s meeting will feature a presentation from UK’s Department of Forestry. Come and help us make a difference.
