Woodford County


The current meeting was held at the Senior Center on March 14. Guest

speaker for the evening was our Area 10 Director who gave a very

encouraging talk. Business was completed and reports were given on

church contacts and the search for new members. It was also decided to 

add Bible School distributions to the activity schedule for this summer.

Next meeting is scheduled for April 11. If you are interested in our

work please attend or contact your pastor.


Mentors and Meals

The Mentors & Meals program offers FREE homework help, snacks and meals

to middle school students, Monday through Thursday from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

There are currently several spots open for enrollment right now.  This

is the beginning of the 4th Quarter grading period, if interested in

enrolling your student or learning more about M&Ms, or in volunteering

as a high school, college or adult mentor, please contact Executive

academic achievement in middle schoolers through mentoring. Call today!


Parents of Addicted Loved Ones

Woodford County’s Parent’s of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL) meets the first

and third Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at Versailles Presbyterian

Church, 130 N. Main St., in the conference room.

All are welcome to the meetings, including parents, relatives and

friends who have a loved one in addiction of drugs or alcohol. Come and

find support and obtain a better understanding of your loved one.

Young Life

The annual 101-hole golf derby will be held on May 6. There are golfer

and hole sponsorships available. The High School Summer Resort trip will

be Windy Gap in North Carolina June 23-29.

Versailles Kiwanis Club

The club’s monthly meetings are held the fourth Tuesday each month at

11:30 a.m. at Callie’s Homestyle Restaurant.

The new Survivors of Suicide Loss support group will meet the first and

third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church.

Conservation District

April 20, 10 a.m.: Tree Seedling Giveaway. WCCD will host the FREE

annual tree seedling giveaway at the Red Barn in Falling Springs. The

event will also include the Master Gardener berry and asparagus plant

sale, farmers market plant sale, and Scouts bake sale!

April 22, Earth Day: Just a reminder to go outside and celebrate our

wonderful planet!

April 28 - May 5: Stewardship Week. Look out for bookmarks in the

libraries & activity mats at local restaurants! We invite all of

Woodford to consider Conservation and Creation Care a top priority this

week. The theme is “May the Forest Be With You Always”.

Jouett House

May 11, 12 - 3 P.M. Beat the Heat Summer Series at the Jouett House.

Join historian and reenactor Richard Quire as he portrays Gen. William

Woodford, the namesake of Woodford County! This interactive event is

The Versailles High School Class of 1962 will hold it’s 80th Birthday

Party Reunion on June 27 at The Kentucky Castle at 5:30 p.m.
